Roald & Kylie had already had a civil service many months prior and chose to celebrate their wedding day at a place incredibly dear to my heart, The Sea Trader in Britannia Bay along the West Coast. Francois and I got married there 3 years ago in September and had an amazing weekend of festivities. When I heard Kylie was getting married there and in September as well, I just knew I had to shoot her wedding!
The Friday before we did an engagement shoot on the beach which you can see here and it brought back so many special memories of Francois and I celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary there, walking along the beach and visiting the lighthouse, collecting shells and taking loads of photos in the dunes covered in spring flowers.
The next day was Roald and Kylie's wedding day and as much as I thought I'd be able to keep it together, I'll be honest - I intermittently balled from shooting decor, right the way through until the end of the speeches that evening. Everything was incredibly beautiful. Their ceremony!!!! Their vows were incredibly heartfelt - so touching and so much love. What I loved most was there was definitely a difference in seeing them say their vows to each other, a couple that had already been legally married for almost a year vs a couple saying "I do" to each for the first time. Both are so special in their own way but there is a sense of knowing between the couple, if that makes any sense. I actually can't put my finger on what it is but it was something I got to experience that I will never forget. This was a very happy day indeed.
I loved every single second spending time with these two. Magic. Pure magic.
Enjoy these Roald & Kylie!
